The Corbett Elephant Jeep Safari. 6 Days
Delhi-Corbett National Park-The Corbett Hideaway
The Corbett National Park: A conservationist’s Heritage
Aptly called-The Land of Roar and Trumpet- this forest of flowing rivers, blue water and sal –dappled glades, was christened after the famous colonel Jim Corbett. There is something absolutely magical being in Tiger & Elephant country where unexpected sights & sounds present themselves at almost every turn.
The Corbett National Park is an excellent and largely inviolate specimen of the rich sal and mixed woodland that spans outer Himalyas. The topography of the park is varied and interesting with ravines, plateaus, marshy depressions and grass lands.
The sparkling river Ramganga is the life source of the park. Because of its rich biogeography diversity, the park is a natural heaven for flaura & fauna of the plains, the sub mountainous region and high altitude area and that is why Corbett is home of 110 species of trees,51 species of shrubs 27 species of climbers,37 species of grasses & bamboos, over 50 mammals,580 birds & 25 reptile species.
Where in the world you have Goral & Gharial –together??
The best way to explore-The Elephant Safari. Undisturbed by the mechanical roar of a car or jeep, open to the skies, accompanied only by the rhythmic scuff-scuff-scuff of elephants feet and the creeks of wooden Howdah.
The far off booming of wild elephants calling to each other can make you hanging tight to the wooden pole of the howdah. The ride can be a mix of movements of pure terror interspersed with long period of utter piece.
