DELHI - SIKKIM - AGRA - KANHA NATIONAL PARK

Sikkim: Land Locked and bounded by three nations Sikkim is a little paradise on Earth. Mt. Kanchendzonga at 7000 plus feet is worshipped revered as a guardian deity. The characteristic high altitude beauty is accorded by the Himalayan Ranges.

The Indian state abounds in glaciers and snowy treks. The river Tista is the lifeline of Sikkim and it originates from Lake Cholamu. The spectacular landscape and lots of trekking opportunities invite many tourists to the State of Sikkim. It is also the home to Buddhist Culture and the Gompas and the monastries are the star attractions.

Day 1 You arrive in Delhi Airport and from there we take you to your luxury hotel at Janpath. We will go sightseeing if time permits. Delhi both old and new have much to offer and we will not miss any place of importance.
Day 2 Delhi: Full day sightseeing is scheduled to the most popular monuments in Old Delhi. We keep on skipping between Old and New and have lunch at Lodhi Gardens. Kutub Minar, Humayun's Tomb and the Red Fort interests us the most but if there is more time we will visit the Swami Narayan Hindu Temple as well. This is enough for the day the city's long distances set a limit to our excursions. Now it is time for some rest, dinner and sound sleep at our hotel.
Day 3 This day we fly directly to Bagdogra town on the way to Sikkim. On arrival at IXB Airport we drive down to Kalimpong which ic 85 km for Bagdogra and a three our drive. We check in the hotel at lunch time and rest for some time. Our evening trips into the town give us an insight into the cultural diversity of the people and their lifestyle. Kalompong is situated on the Teesta River in lesser Himalaya or the Mahabharat Range. Besides Buddhist monasteries the town also contains some colonial structures. We make the most of our evening visit and then retire back at the hotel for dinner and sleep.
Day 4 KALIMPONG – GANGTOK
Kalimpomg is home to amazing bio diversity the specimens can be seen at its popular nurseries.We will also visit the Neora Valley National Park home to tigers and exotic species like the Red Panda, Himalayan Tahr, Asiatic Black Bear, Goral and many more. We will track the tiger here with some luck.We stay for the night at hotel in Kalimpong which is near to the park.
Day 5 GANGTOK
We drive to Gangtok early in the morning which is eighty five km away.We visit the Rumtek Monastery amd the Gompa. Gangtok is the capital city of Sikkim in the Shivalik Hills. We will visit a number of places and institution here which will introduce us to the cultural tapestry of this Himalayan Kingdom.
Day 6 GANGTOK - YUKSOM
We drive to Yuksom which is116 km from Gangtok. Yuksom is a fantastic trekking station as well as home to amazing bio diversity. We will trek around many places and visit the Kangchendzonga National Park. Here we will look for the snow leopard, musk deer, Himalayan Black Bear and Tahr, Tibetan Wild Ass and Takin besides many other mammals and birds. Our hotel has been booked in advance and we retire to spend the night here.
Day 7 YUKSOM - TSOKA
We begin trekking at the break of sunlight and proceed through many villages and mountains. The magnificent landscape lies immersed in silence making our journey tranquil and serene. We will trek up to nine thousand feet and reach Tsoka a small township with Buddhist monasteries and tribal settlements. Our night stay is at a place called Trekkers Hut.
Day 8 TSOKA - DZONGRI
The trek from Tsoka to Dzongro is ten km long and consumes five hours. The trek intersects various forest zones a veritable out door herbarium. The dense canopy changes to stunted tree growth as you arrive at Dzongri at 13220 ft. We stay here for the night with our group mates in the package tour.
Day 9 Dzongri - TSHOKA
We will take a refreshing trek at pre dawn to Dzongri Top at height of 4269 mtrs. From this point you get a spectacular view of Mt. Kanchenjunga the third highest peak in the World. We return to the camp site and after breakfast trek on to Tshoka. We call it a day at Tsoka. Over night halt is at Trekkers hut / Tent.
Day 10 Tsoka to Yuksom
From Tsoke we climb down to Yuksom this is much less strenuous than trekking uphill earlier. The trek take seven hours before we reach Yuksom.On the way we trek for wild animals in hills and dense canopies. Here we will visit the monastery and then send the rest of the day at leisure. We will stay for the night at a camping site.
Day 11 YUKSOM - DARJEELING
Our next destination is in the state of West Bengal. Darjeeling is one hundred and fifteen km from Yuksom and the drive consumes five hours. Post lunch we visit a tea plantation here and have a look at the toy train as it arduously negotiates the Batasia Loop. We spend the night at a luxury home stay.
Day 12 DARJEELING - Jaldapara
We will visit the Tiger Hill at predawn to view sunrise over Kanchenjunga Peak. On way back visit Ghoom Monastery which contains many Buddhist relics and home to the Lamas. We will also visit Jaldapara National Park which is about 116 km from Darjeeling. This is a goodplace for tiger safari near Darjeeling. The park is home to one horned rhino as well as the tiger. We look for many other wild animals that thrive here in wild abundance. We return back in the late evening to spend the night at our home stay.
Day 13 DARJEELING - IXB AIRPORT
Transfer to IXB Airport, (100 Kms / 3 Hrs) to connect direct flight to Delhi. We stay for the night at Hotel Janpath.
Day 14 We drive by road to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal & the board an evening train to Jabalpur. We spend the night on the rail.
Day 15 We reach Jabalpur early morning and drive to Hotel Krishna to freshen up & have breakfast. After breakfast we proceed to Courtyard House Kanha which is three and half hours ride. After checking in we will relax in the forest confines of the lodge and then have a sumptuous lunch. The evening drive begins at three pm and offers us a spectacular view of Kanha landscape and its majestic tigers. We enjoy wildlife watching and birding till the dusk. We return back to our resort for some evening entertainment and dinner.
Day 16-18 Kanha National Park is the home of the tiger besides many other mammals. The swamp deer race found here is the only one in the World. On tiger safaris we look for the Bengal tiger and come across many deer and primates. The targeted animals are the tiger, leopard, wild dog, sloth bear and the bison. The deer species are met with often on the open jeep safari and we also look for some interesting avian species found in this tiger reserve. We make most of the tiger safari at Kanha and return back whence the day ends. We will also visit the tribal hamlets and talk to the people. Tigers and tribal live side by side and it is interesting to understand their awkward relationship. In the lodge we see some tribal dances or a wildlife film before we sit down for dinner followed by sound sleep.
Day 19 Drive to Jabalpur. Lunch at Hotel Krishna Jabalpur, later board a direct train to Delhi. Packed Dinner will be served on train. Overnight train.
Day 20 Reach Delhi early morning, transfer to international airport or to Hotel if you have booked extra nights.

FEW WORDS OF OPERATION

* Please be informed that the area that is Sikkim / Darjeeling is not as developed as other parts of the world. The infrastructure available is bare minimum and people coming to this area, should expect, nothing more than to be with nature with basic necessities. The infrastructure used is the best available as per category, not to be compared with the developed world.

* For entry to INDIA a valid visa is must, which you can have it indorsed at Indian embassy in the home country OR at Kathmandu. Visa for India is not available upon arrival like Nepal. With valid visa one can visit Darjeeling & Kalimpong (NO SPECIAL PERMIT REQUIRED). For SIKKIM a SPECIAL INNER LINE PERMIT is required which is available at NO EXTRA COST, easily. All the guest has to do is mentioned their desired to visit to SIKKIM while stamping Indian visa on the passport. Incase the client has a valid Indian visa and they do not have SPECIAL PERMIT to Sikkim then our office in India will get the necessary organize. In such case the itinerary will be modified because permit will be subjected to working of the government offices. For such happening the company will not be responsible for any kind of compensation & refund. All additional & extra expenses will be collected directly.

* For Sikkim Inner Line permit we need the following details a month in advance a. 02 Clicked photographed b. Photo Copy of (1) Passport (2) Valid Indian Visa. c. Fathers name, occupation & Residential Addresses. All the Trek starts from Yuksom and ends at Yuksom and is on Full Board (Includes all Meals).

1. Please note that this areas are cold through out the year, kindly advice your client to be equipped with proper woolen / warm clothes.

2 Please note that this area is blessed with Natural Beauty. The accommodation provided during the trek will be at Trekkers Hut / Tents with very basis facilities like:

a. We will provide warm water in buckets.

b. The food prepared will be fresh, by the local trained Sherpas’s & not by Hotel chef.

c. The best season for trekking is Mid Sep to Mid December & Mid March to Mid June.

d. Camping facility like Potters, Guide, Cook etc. E. Sleeping Bags & Inner We have noted that may guest are very particular on hygiene & have seen them bringing their own Sleeping Bags. In case the passengers are getting their own Sleeping it is always welcome.

3. Kindly advice the guest to bring the following Clothing - Light Pullovers & Trousers for Trek, Woolen pullover/ high neck, Jackets, Gloves, Comfortable Walking trekking Shoes, Woolen Socks, Wind Cheater / Rain Coat / umbrella. Caps / Balaclava (Monkey cap). Sun Glasses, Sun cream, Petroleum jelly (Vaseline) Ruck Sack / shoulder bag to contain, Chap Sticks, Torch & Spare cell, Small note book and pen (if you would like to keep notes), Toiletries (Tooth Brush & paste, Toilet paper, Soap etc.)
